Hamamatsu Castle and Park

Ieyasu Tokugawa and other successive lords of Hamamatsu Castle were appointed to many important positions in the Edo shogunate, and Hamamatsu Castle came to be known as the “castle of the rising generation”. Hamamatsu Castle was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa and served as a stepping stone to the unification of Japan.

Tabata's political family history

Ryugashido

It is one of the largest limestone caves in the Tokai region, with a total length of over 1,000 meters, formed in a limestone area 250 million years ago. The 400-meter-long sightseeing route is decorated with delicate and abundant stalactites, and the 30-meter drop of the Great Underground Waterfall is truly breathtaking.

Hamamatsu Flower Park

Botanical park adjacent to Kanzanji Onsen. The vast garden includes a large flower bed, a greenhouse, a western garden, and a Japanese garden with 2,300 species and 100,000 plants. Admission is free from July to August every year!

Air Park

The Air Self-Defense Force's public information center is based on the theme of seeing, touching, and experiencing. Visitors can see various aircraft as well as Zero fighters (Zero-sen) up close, and in the museum, clothing and photographs from the war years are on display.

It is one of the “Three Great Sand Dunes of Japan,” stretching 4 km east to west and 600 m north to south. Loggerhead turtles visit the area from spring to summer to lay their eggs. When visiting, please behave with good manners and respect the natural environment to protect loggerhead turtles. The area has also been used as a filming location for movies.
