HMI President Ryuko Hira serves as a board member (reappointed) of the "Japan-India Association," a goodwill organization established in the Meiji era that has promoted economic and cultural exchanges between Japan and India. The formal turnover ceremony for the new and outgoing presidents of the "Japan-India Association" was held at a hotel in Tokyo on the 24th. Former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, who had served as president for many years, stepped down, and former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of the Liberal Democratic Party has been appointed as the new president.
