Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Indian Commerce and Industry Association Japan.

On November 15th, the Indian Commerce and Industry Association Japan, chaired by Mr. Ryuko Hira, President of Hotel Management International (HMI Hotel Group), marked its 100th anniversary with a 'Gratitude Festival' held in Tokyo. The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including His Excellency Mr Yoshihide Suga, former Prime Minister and current President of the Japan-India Association, His Excellency Mr Yasunori Nishimura, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and former chairman of the Japan-India Friendship Parliamentary League, parliamentarians, mayors from local municipalities with strong ties to India, and His Excellency Mr Shibi George, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Japan.

Established on February 24, 1921, as the Yokohama Indian Merchants Association, it actively promotes friendship and goodwill between Japan and India, fostering economic and cultural exchanges as well as mutual understanding. Its members consist of Indian businesses based in Japan.

During the ceremony, a video message from His Excellency Mr Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister who visited India in March of this year, was shared. Congratulations were also extended by His Excellency Mr Tetsuo Saito, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and other notable figures. Additionally, His Excellency Mr. Kikunosuke Onoe, who will be performing in the Indian epic 'Mahabharata' at the Kabuki-za theatre, delivered a speech.

The event featured a live stage of popular Indian music, adding to the festive atmosphere in Japan.
